Joshua Blake presented the session "Developing Natural User Interfaces with Microsoft Silverlight and WPF 4 Touch" at the MIX 10 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17.  

The Natural User Interface (NUI) is the next phase of human-computer interaction, allowing users to interact with devices with direct manipulation and gestures. The session showed how to create next generation NUIs for devices such as multi-touch tablets and displays, highlighting the relevant application programming interfaces and developer tools used for these platforms.

Microsoft is pioneering NUI technology with its Surface devices and the multi-touch features included in Windows 7.
